Our Mission & Purpose
Bob and Debi Cowan were both raised in separate parts of Ontario, Canada; both had dramatic conversions to the Christian faith in the midst of darkening lifestyles, and then were brought together by God in Banff, Alberta. Since their marriage in 1982 they dedicated themselves to pastoring four different Canadian churches, and Bob taught for 4 years at Briercrest Bible College in Saskatchewan, Canada.
Through a variety of wonderful circumstances they discovered Roatan and sensed a call to come and help the Island’s poor and needy. The “Made in Roatan” Gift Shop, and now this special online shop, are just two of the many projects God has prompted them to pursue to benefit many Island families through the sale of their local arts and crafts.
One of Debi’s passions is photography, which you can see here displayed for sale.Debi also teaches several young artists to make jewelry and has recently start to sell some of her designs. Her favorite style is bohemian crochet jewelry. Whatever you purchase from us helps keep our costs down as we don't take anything from the shop. The proceeds, of course, are circulated back into the lives of Islanders, to stimulate ongoing economic prosperity.
It truly is 'more blessed to give than to receive' and we thank you for your support through this little 'Made in Roatan' online shop!
It is our joy that the demonstration of our faith in Jesus Christ has prompted others to discover for themselves the joys of a relationship with God through a living and active faith in Jesus.
We are affiliated with the Evangelical Free Church of Canada mission and we are currently raising our own support. If you'd like to partner with us financially then please write us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we can let you know how you can do that. Our support will enable us to continue to be the hands and feet on the island doing His work. Thanks so much!!!
